From
The Superintendent's Desk Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I greet you warmly in the name of Jesus Christ the King whose coming unto the world we celebrate.
We are fast approaching the festival of Nativity (Christmas) and as we gather for worship on this third Lord's Day of Advent and light the candle of JOY, it is my prayer that the joy of the Lord will fill our hearts. This is supposed to be a joyous season as we remember that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that those who believe in him may not perish but have eternal life (John 3: 16). The promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ is the reason we rejoice. This is the good news that we proclaim. I pray that “the joy of the Lord will be your strength” (Nehemiah 8: 10).
On Friday, December 16, 2011, we will hold our annual Circuit Christmas Social to which everyone is invited. Please make an effort to attend. It is an opportunity for us to get together as one big Methodist family to share and celebrate the coming of Christ into the world. We look forward to having the members, adherents and friends of our three congregations at the Social. The event will take place at the Methodist Education and Outreach Complex (MEOC)beginning at 7:00 PM. Come let's fellowship and celebrate!
Finally, thanks to all who attended the Circuit Leadership Seminar on Saturday, December 3, 2011. It was inspiring and informative. Our featured presenter, Dr. Nancy Wyche Morgan, UVI Associate professor, gave an excellent presentation. I trust that those who attended will endeavor to use the information received.
God bless you,
Jefferson Niles
Superintendent

VIRTUE FOR THE WEEK
Tolerance
Being tolerant is accepting differences. You don't expect others to think, look, speak or act just like you. You are free of prejudice, knowing that all people have feelings, needs hopes and dreams. Tolerance is also accepting things you wish were different with patience and flexibility.
You are practicing tolerance when you –
Build unity with others who are difference from you
Are free of prejudice
Make others feel included by reaching out in friendliness
Don't complain about things that cannot be changed
Change yourself instead of trying to change others
Accept people the way they are, faults and all
Affirmation:
I am tolerant. I appreciate differences. I overlook people's faults. I accept the things I cannot change with good grace.
